The dispute over the collective agreement between the Industrial Union and Grano has been settled – industrial action cancelled

The Industrial Union and Grano Oy have reached an agreement on employing the collective agreement concerning workers in the media and printing industry (media- ja painoalan työehtosopimus). The collective agreement will be adhered to by Grano as of 1 January 2021.

The agreement also stipulates the terms and conditions of employment adhered to during the transition period of 26 June–31 December 2020 and a commitment to labour market harmony. As part of the agreement, the employer acknowledges the shop stewards in accordance with the collective agreement.

The overtime ban put in place by the Industrial Union will cease immediately and the strike planned for 29 June–12 July 2020 will be cancelled.

“We have now decided which terms and conditions of employment to comply with after the old collective agreement was terminated. These are always challenging issues. I am glad that we were able to find common ground. I would like to thank the negotiators at Service Sector Employers Palta and the Industrial Union for their patience and the National Conciliator for her wisdom. We now know once again how to proceed,” says Grano Oy’s Managing Director Pekka Mettälä.

“The Industrial Union is satisfied with the agreement to employ the collective agreement concerning workers in the media and printing industry at Grano Oy. The employees’ united will and the agreement arrived at during the negotiations provide a strong base on which to build good and functional negotiation relationships at Grano,” says Industrial Union Sector Head Marko Rosqvist.
